Project Embrace, which challenges the narrow perception of beautiful hair, was set up by Lekia Lée. The aim is to inspire girls and young women to love, embrace and celebrate everything about themselves including their own hair and reject the narrow ideals of beautiful hair.
It was such a pleasure to pass by the Project Embrace stall full of merchandise flaunting positive messages including “I ROCK WHAT I GOT” at The Africa Live Festival in Burgess Park, London yesterday. As always Lekia, who has been a guest panelist at a few events I’ve organised under UAL ACS, was supportive of #Art4ChangeHaiti. I bought a fridge magnet to affirm everyday my passions because: “I AM ENOUGH”
